PITTSBURGH, Jan. 08 — Neya Systems, a leading provider of off-road autonomy, open architecture, and mission planning software, shared the company’s year in review for 2023.
“Neya Systems had an incredibly successful year,” said Division Manager Kurt Bruck. “We achieved a number of technical milestones and project awards in 2023, including the announcement of our cybersecurity solution, as well as our recent selection by the U.S. Army to develop an autonomous solution that protects military vehicles during convoy missions. In addition, we grew our staff by nearly a third and expanded our management team. Our team’s continued efforts and dedication to excellence have positioned us as a leader in our industry, and we are looking forward to even greater achievements in 2024.”
In 2023, Neya achieved numerous significant technical and operational successes.
Technical Highlights:
- Selected by Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) for the Ground Vehicle Autonomous Pathways (GVAP) project to accelerate autonomous vehicle technology for the U.S. Army.
- Achieved technical milestone by integrating JAUS, IOP standards with Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) for controlling unmanned ground vehicles.
- Successfully launched full-scale deployment of Neya System’s perception stack on multiple commercial mining vehicles in Australia.
- Successfully demonstrated negative obstacle detection in the field, with the company’s autonomous vehicle avoiding a ravine to complete its mission.
- Unveiled development of advanced cybersecurity solution for autonomous ground vehicles.
- Successfully demonstrated a SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) prototype capable of autonomous guarded waypoint following (GWF).
- Selected by U.S. Army for the DIU’s Ground Expeditionary Autonomous Retrofit System (GEARS) project to develop an autonomous solution that converts existing military vehicles into uncrewed vehicles.
