Neya Systems has been awarded a Phase III SBIR to continue development of mission management technologies and UxV standards tools for the maritime community.
Under this Phase III SBIR, Neya will extend development of tooling and software development kits to assist with integration of UAS Control Segment Architecture (https://www.ucsarchitecture.org) and the SAE-AS4 JAUS (http://www.jaustoolset.org) for use Unmanned Maritime Systems. Neya will be developing extensions to UCS to add and extend subject domains such as Maritime and Ground domains, in order to enhance standards-based interoperability between multiple platform types.
Neya’s approach makes use of the solid architectural framework provided by the UCS Architecture, which was originally developed to support Class 2-5 UAS, and extends it to other platform types. In addition, Neya will extend its UxSDK™ for UCS Software Developers Kit to support these additional extensions, integrate the JAUS data model within UCS, and support standards-based maritime systems demonstrations. Neya will be working with multiple government, industry, and standards organization stakeholders as it works to further the use and value of UCS within the overall unmanned systems community.
“Neya has been deeply committed to UxV standards development, open architecture, and open business models since I started the company, “ said Dr. Parag Batavia, president of Neya Systems, “we believe it’s the right approach for government acquisition, and allows for small business to compete in areas that were previously reserved for DoD Prime Contractors. This provides great value to the taxpayer, who benefits from the innovation, cost structure, and agility that the US unmanned systems small business community provides.”
