Neya Systems’ Dr. Rorry Brenner Selected as One of Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest by Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Western PA Chapter

Neya Systems, a leading provider of off-road autonomy, is proud to announce that Research Scientist Dr. Rorry Brenner has been selected as one of Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest by the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation Western Pennsylvania Chapter.

Brenner, who has been with Neya Systems since 2018, is also the founder of Nerd Nite’s Pittsburgh chapter. Nerd Nite is a nationwide monthly lecture series that combines 15-minute presentations with comedy and social networking. Since its founding in April 2019, Nerd Night Pittsburgh has donated its profits to numerous charitable foundations, including the CF Foundation.

“The achievements of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are extremely commendable,” said Brenner. “As recently as the 1990s, people with cystic fibrosis rarely made it past 30 years of age. Thanks to the research the CF Foundation has funded, that’s now closer to 50, with many people making it to their 80s. We are proud to be contributing to the CF Foundation’s efforts to find a cure for those affected by this disease.”

According to the CF Foundation, Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest honorees embody exceptional leadership traits, are active in their communities, and have achieved a high degree of success within their respective industries. The honorees are considered to be among the most “prominent, influential, and successful young professionals” in Pittsburgh.

“It is an honor that the CF Foundation would consider me to be one of the most influential members in the Pittsburgh community because of Nerd Nite Pittsburgh,” said Brenner, who also serves on the Carnegie Mellon University Alumni Association’s social committee.  Brenner earned his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Southern California and his B.S. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University.

“We at Neya are extremely proud of Rorry for this remarkable achievement,” said Kurt Bruck, division manager, Neya Systems. “Beyond his groundbreaking work as a research scientist, Rorry is an active and inspirational member of our local community, and this recognition is testament of the positive impact we can make on our communities beyond our work. On behalf of our entire company, I extend my sincere congratulations to Rorry!”

Brenner and his fellow honorees will be honored at a Finale Celebration on Friday, Sept. 29.
